Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update Reverses Controversial Zombies Change

Treyarch has addressed player concerns regarding recent changes to Black Ops 6's Zombies mode, specifically the Directed Mode spawn delay. Following negative feedback, the January 9th update reversed the controversial change that extended the time between rounds and zombie spawns after five looped rounds on round 15. The original alteration hindered kill farming and camo challenge completion, prompting community backlash.

This update also includes several improvements:

  • Citadelle des Morts Fixes: Numerous bug fixes were implemented for the Citadelle des Morts map in Directed Mode, addressing issues with quest progression, incorrect guidance, and visual glitches. A crash bug related to the Void Sheath Augment and Aether Shroud was also resolved.

  • Shadow Rift Buff: The Shadow Rift Ammo Mod received substantial buffs, increasing activation rates for normal, special, and elite enemies (with Big Game Augment). The cooldown timer was also reduced by 25%.

  • Global Improvements: The update addressed various issues across the game, including visual problems with Maya's "Joyride" Operator Skin, UI issues in the Events tab, and audio problems with in-game event milestone banners. Multiplayer stability improvements were also included.

Looking Ahead:

The January 9th update marks a significant step towards addressing player feedback, but further improvements are planned. Black Ops 6 Season 2, launching January 28th, will include additional bug fixes and changes, including a fix for the Terminus Shock Charge speedrun tactic. The update also increased the round cap for the Dead Light, Green Light LTM and added Liberty Falls to the map rotation.
