In Death Stranding 2, a groundbreaking feature allows players to bypass traditional boss fights by opting for a narrative-driven approach. This new mechanic, dubbed as the "continue" option, enables players to progress through the game without engaging in combat, catering especially to those who might find boss battles challenging. During the Koji Pro radio broadcasts on April 14, Director Hideo Kojima unveiled this feature, explaining that upon choosing to "continue" after a game over, players would be treated to visual novel-style sequences. These sequences consist of images and text descriptions that narrate the battle, ensuring players don't miss out on crucial story elements while still offering an alternative to combat.

Hideo Kojima has introduced an innovative feature in Death Stranding 2: On The Beach (DS2), designed to assist players less inclined towards combat. In the latest episode of the Koji Pro radio broadcast, Kojima shared that DS2 will include an option to press "continue" on the game over screen, allowing players to bypass a failed boss fight. This choice leads to a visual novel-style experience where the game displays images and text, providing the narrative context of the battle without the need for combat.

Hideo Kojima announced that Death Stranding 2 is now approximately 95% complete. In his words, "It’s at about 95% now… It feels like it is 10 o’clock (PM), speaking of 24 hours, Koji Pro’s DS2 is at 10 o’clock (PM), there are 2 hours left." This update suggests the game is nearing its final stages of development. DS2 is set to continue directly from the events of its predecessor. Recently, at the South by South West (SXSW) event, Kojima Productions and Sony shared a 10-minute trailer that not only showcased the story of DS2 but also introduced new characters, sparking excitement among fans. Notably, the trailer featured a character resembling Solid Snake and revealed additional story snippets and new gameplay features.

The presentation at SXSW also announced the availability of DS2's collector’s edition and detailed pre-order bonuses. For more detailed information on pre-orders and downloadable content (DLC), please refer to our dedicated article below!
