Weird Johnny Studio, known for their work on Hero Tale, has recently announced their latest project, Last Mage, a grimdark bullet heaven game set to release by the end of 2025. In Last Mage, players step into the role of the titular character, the last surviving mage in a world where magic has been outlawed and its practitioners hunted to near extinction. Trapped in a dungeon and sentenced to death, your only hope for survival lies in your magical abilities.
As you delve deeper into the dungeon, your mission is to eliminate the monstrous creatures that infest it. To succeed, you must enhance your magical powers by collecting ancient artifacts scattered throughout the dungeon. Managing your mana effectively is crucial, as running out at a critical moment could spell disaster.

Backpacking
Last Mage introduces a unique twist to the bullet heaven genre with its inventory management system. Different backpacks that players can unlock affect how much and what types of items you can carry. This feature adds a layer of strategy, requiring players to carefully select and organize their equipment to optimize their loadout within the limited space available.
While a specific release date has yet to be confirmed, Last Mage promises to blend the intense gameplay of Vampire Survivors with the strategic depth of Backpack Battles. If this combination intrigues you, keep an eye out for further updates on its release.
