Feeling stuck with your character's build in *Avowed*? It happens to the best of us—sometimes, the initial choices just don't pan out as we hoped. Whether you've gone full wizard and found yourself getting rocked or you're aiming to become the ultimate spellsword, respecing in *Avowed* can help you find the perfect fit for your playstyle. In this article, I'll walk you through how to respec your character, abilities, attributes, and even your companions to ensure you're playing the game exactly how you want to.
Starting a new game often comes with the challenge of figuring out which character build will be the most fun and effective for you. That's where respecing shines. If you're not vibing with your current setup, it's time to consider a respec. In *Avowed*, I initially dove into the world as a wizard but quickly realized a spellsword approach would suit me better. As you progress, respecing can also help you fine-tune your build to dominate battles and craft your dream character.

To respec your abilities in Avowed, dive into the menu and head to the “Abilities” section. At the bottom, you'll spot the “Reset Points” option. The first time you do this, it'll cost you 100 Copper Skeyt, though the price will increase as you continue to respec. Simply hit the button, confirm your choice, and pay up. This action will reset all your ability points across all skill trees, except for the “Godlike” abilities, which are locked and can only be obtained through specific in-game decisions.

If you're happy with your abilities but not your attributes—or if you're looking to overhaul everything—respecing your attributes is straightforward. Navigate to the “Character” section in the menu. At the bottom, under your attribute list, you'll find the respec button along with its cost, starting at 100 Copper Skeyt and increasing over time. Press the button, pay the fee, and reclaim your attribute points to redistribute them as you see fit.

Want to tweak your companion's abilities in Avowed? Head to the menu, go to the “Abilities” section, and switch to the “Companions” tab. Under your companion's name, you'll see an icon that, when selected, allows you to respec for a certain amount of Copper Skeyt. Click the button, confirm your decision, and you'll have all of your companion's points back to reassign. Remember, you'll need to respec each companion individually.
And there you have it—that's how you can respec in *Avowed* to ensure your gameplay experience is exactly what you want it to be. Whether it's tweaking your character, abilities, attributes, or companions, you're now equipped to make the most out of your adventure in *Avowed*.
