In the world of RAID: Shadow Legends, the excitement of summoning champions through the RNG-based system can often turn into frustration, particularly when players go through numerous pulls without securing a Legendary champion. To mitigate this, Plarium introduced a feature known as the "Pity System." But what exactly is this system, and does it truly benefit free-to-play (F2P) and low-spender players? Let's delve into the details and explore how effective it really is.
The Pity System is a subtle mechanism within the game that enhances your chances of summoning higher rarity champions, specifically Epics and Legendaries, as your streak of bad luck extends. In essence, if you go without pulling a high-rarity champion for an extended period, the game incrementally boosts your odds until you finally land that coveted pull. This system is designed to prevent long "dry streaks" where players might summon dozens, or even hundreds, of shards without success. Although Plarium doesn't openly publicize this mechanic in-game, it has been verified by dataminers, developers, and numerous player experiences.

For Sacred Shards, the base chance of pulling a Legendary champion is 6% per pull. The Pity System, or "mercy," activates after 12 pulls without a Legendary. From the 13th pull onward, your odds of pulling a Legendary increase by 2% with each subsequent pull:
The effectiveness of the Pity System isn't straightforward. While it's designed to help, many players report that the system kicks in so late that they often pull a Legendary before reaching the pity threshold. This raises the question of how the system could be improved. The presence of a Pity System is undoubtedly beneficial, especially in a gacha game like RAID: Shadow Legends, where luck plays a significant role.
For free-to-play players, the constant grind and farming for shards without landing a Legendary can be disheartening. The Pity System is crucial in these scenarios, but it could be enhanced. For instance, reducing the number of pulls needed to trigger the pity from 200 to 150 or 170 could make a significant difference. This adjustment would help players save more shards and feel the impact of the pity system more tangibly.
To elevate your RAID: Shadow Legends experience, consider playing on a larger screen using your PC or laptop with a keyboard and mouse through BlueStacks. This setup can enhance your gameplay, making it smoother and more enjoyable.
