Split Fiction Streamers Earn A Trip to Hazelight Studios After Completing Secret Stage

The excitement around Split Fiction continues to grow as players uncover its hidden gems. The latest surprise is the "Laser Hell" secret stage, a challenging addition that has captivated the gaming community. Two Chinese streamers, sharkOvO and E1uM4y, have not only conquered this daunting level but also earned themselves an unforgettable reward: a trip to Hazelight Studios, courtesy of the game's director, Josef Fares.

The duo showcased their triumph on BiliBili, detailing how they accessed the secret stage by entering a precise sequence of switch presses in the Isolation level's elevator. This led them to a platform stage filled with lasers, aptly named "Laser Hell." Their success was met with a congratulatory video from Fares himself, who revealed that even the game's developers struggled with the level. In a follow-up tweet on March 19, Fares reaffirmed his promise, inviting the streamers to Sweden for an exclusive sneak peek at Hazelight's next project.

In a recent interview on The Friends Per Second podcast on March 17, Josef Fares discussed Hazelight's ongoing relationship with publisher EA and hinted at the studio's next venture. Fares expressed a sense of closure with Split Fiction, noting its exceptional reception but also his eagerness to move forward. "For me, personally, every time a game is out, I’m kind of done with it. I’m kind of like, ‘OK, here’s the next thing.’ This has been a bit extra special," he said, emphasizing the studio's excitement for their new project, which they began working on just a month ago.

While Fares kept details about the new game under wraps, he assured fans that more information would be shared in the coming years. He also clarified Hazelight's unique relationship with EA, stating, "EA is a supporter. We don’t pitch games to them. We say, ‘We’re going to do this.’ That’s it. They have zero, and I mean zero, thing to say about what we’re doing next." Fares praised EA's hands-off approach, crediting it for Hazelight's success as one of EA's most successful studios.
