Neople, a subsidiary of the renowned South Korean gaming giant Nexon, is preparing to unveil its much-anticipated hardcore RPG slasher, The First Berserker: Khazan. Scheduled for release on March 27, the game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. To build excitement, the developers have shared an eight-minute gameplay trailer that dives deep into the game's intricate combat system.

The trailer highlights three fundamental elements of combat in The First Berserker: Khazan: attacking, dodging, and defending. Defense, while consuming a substantial amount of stamina, offers a strategic advantage when executed perfectly. A well-timed block not only reduces stamina consumption but also significantly diminishes the stun effect from enemy attacks. On the flip side, dodging is less stamina-intensive but demands precise timing and quick reflexes to fully exploit the invulnerability frames during evasion. Mastering stamina management is key to success in this soulslike game, as it directly impacts the flow and outcome of combat encounters.

When stamina is depleted, Khazan enters an exhaustion state, making him completely vulnerable to enemy attacks. This mechanic also presents an opportunity for players to exploit enemies with stamina bars by draining their stamina before launching devastating attacks. For enemies without stamina bars, relentless attacks can still wear down their resilience over time.
