Der Fourth Curtain Podcast hat kürzlich durch Gespräche mit den Branchenveteranen Alexander Seropian und Alex Irvine, die beide am MGU-Konzept gearbeitet haben, Einblicke in diese eingestellte Initiative gegeben.

Seropian bestätigte das frühe Scheitern der Initiative: "Das war meine Vision in den Tagen Disneys vor dem MCU, aber letztendlich scheiterte es daran, die Unterstützung des Unternehmens zu sichern."

Leider verhinderten budgetäre Einschränkungen die Umsetzung."
Der Narrative Designer führte die Absage teilweise auf operative Komplexitäten zurück: "Als wir die Auswirkungen in Bezug auf die Kontinuität von Comics und Filmen untersuchten, wurden die Disney-Manager zögerlich, diese komplexen Überschneidungen zu verwalten."
