El desarrollador de inZOI ha confirmado oficialmente la eliminación de Denuvo DRM del juego. En una publicación del blog de Steam con fecha 26 de marzo, el director de inZOI, Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim, se dirigió a las preocupaciones de la comunidad, aclarando que la próxima versión de Acceso Anticipado, programada para salir el viernes, se lanzará sin ningún DRM. "Nuestra decisión inicial de usar Denuvo fue impulsada por el deseo de proteger el juego de la distribución no autorizada. Creímos que era un paso necesario para garantizar una experiencia justa para todos los que compraran el juego legítimamente. También se disculpó por no informar a los jugadores de antemano sobre la presencia de Denuvo en el modo Creative Studio. Kjun reconoció que, si bien eliminar el DRM aumenta el riesgo de piratería y distribución ilegal, también garantiza que inZOI siga siendo completamente personalizable, otorgando a los jugadores mayor libertad para modificar el juego y diseñar sus propias experiencias únicas. "Estamos convencidos de que adoptar este enfoque abierto desde el principio fomentará una mayor creatividad y compromiso a largo plazo dentro de nuestra comunidad", añadió.

inZOI ha enfatizado consistentemente el papel central de los mods en su diseño, lo que hizo que la inclusión de Denuvo fuera particularmente confusa para los jugadores, ya que este tipo de software suele restringir la capacidad de instalar mods y aplicar contenido personalizado.
Kjun reforzó la posición del estudio, declarando: "Como destaqué durante la Presentación en Línea, nuestro objetivo es hacer de inZOI una experiencia profundamente modificable. La primera fase del soporte oficial para mods está programada para lanzarse en mayo, proporcionando a los jugadores herramientas para crear recursos personalizados utilizando software como Maya y Blender. Sin embargo, este es solo nuestro punto de partida.
