The goal of the shooter's development for DOOM: The Dark Ages is to maximize its accessibility to a broad audience. id Software has introduced a significantly higher level of customization compared to their previous projects. Executive producer Marty Stratton emphasized the studio's commitment to making the game welcoming to as many players as possible.
Players can now tailor their experience by adjusting enemy difficulty, damage output, projectile speed, and even the amount of damage they receive. Additional customization options include modifying the game's tempo, aggression level, and parry timing, allowing for a truly personalized gameplay experience.
Stratton also reassured fans that the narratives of DOOM: The Dark Ages and its predecessor, DOOM: Eternal, can be fully appreciated without prior knowledge of DOOM: The Dark Ages' storyline.
