Marvel Rivals Patch Addresses 30 FPS Cap

Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue

Several Marvel Rivals heroes, including Dr. Strange and Wolverine, are experiencing reduced damage output at lower FPS settings (30 FPS). This issue, affecting damage calculations, is a known bug and is currently under active development by the game's team.

Launched in early December 2025, Marvel Rivals boasts an impressive 80% player approval rating on Steam (over 132,000 reviews), despite early hero balance concerns. Recently, however, players reported a 30 FPS glitch impacting damage dealt by specific heroes, such as Dr. Strange, Magik, Star-Lord, Venom, and Wolverine. Community reports indicate reduced damage on some or all of their attacks at lower frame rates.

A community manager confirmed the glitch on the official Discord server, noting movement and damage inconsistencies at lower FPS. While a precise fix date is unavailable, the upcoming Season 1 launch (January 11th) is expected to include a solution or significant improvement.

The 30 FPS Damage Bug: A Deeper Look

The root cause appears to be related to the game's client-side prediction system, a common programming technique designed to minimize perceived lag. This system, however, seems to be the source of the damage calculation discrepancies.

While the official list of affected heroes and moves remains incomplete, Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw abilities are confirmed. The effects are reportedly more pronounced against stationary targets than in live matches. Should the Season 1 update not completely resolve the issue, further patches are planned.
